Jim Soper

Storyboard and Layout Director

Jim Soper is a Boston based animator who has worked in many roles at many Boston studios including character and background designer, layout artist, storyboard artist, writer and animator.

Jim is a child prodigy who taught himself flash in the seventh grade. When he was just a sophomore in high school he received a grant to teach animation to high schoolers and as a sophomore in college pitched a show to Cartoon Network. Today he continues to teach as a professor at his alma mater, the Art Institute of Boston/LUCAD.

At Hero4Hire, Jim served as lead animator on “Kid Impressive”, a mixed media short produced for Nickelodeon and was the driving force behind the studio’s foray into hand drawn animation.
